LEM CubeSat spectrometer

A project involving the development of a CubeSat space spectrometer, the Low-Energy Module (LEM), is currently in progress at the prototyping and proof-of-concept stage. The compact particle spectrometer, measuring 10x10x10cm³ in size, serves as a payload for the NUSES space mission.

The on-board array of detectors enables event-based measurements of the energy, arrival direction, and composition of low-energy charged particles, reaching as low as 0.1 MeV.

Preliminary evaluations of the mechanical design and simulations of sensor performance have yielded highly promising results in terms of feasibility and achievable instrument quality. Among my contributions in this projects are systems design, mechanical design, electronics design and prototyping, system integration, and testing.

Further information on the instrument concept has been published elsewhere: https://www.mdpi.com/2673-9984/7/1/21
